Sunny Skies, Swing Dance Night and Follow Us

Got any cool tips for fun things to do in the area on St. Patrick's Day? If so, let us know. We're putting out a St. Patrick's day guide tomorrow.

Today is March 16. It is the 75th day of the year. We are under a waxing gibbous moon. Sunset will occur about 7:03 p.m. Here are five things to know:

1. The National Weather Service Forecast for today calls for mostly sunny skies with a high near 64 degrees with patchy fog after 11 p.m. and an overnight low around 50 degrees. Forecasters said beachgoers should expect above normal surf and strong rip currents.

It should be mostly sunny on St. Patrick's Day.

2. We're putting out a guide tomorrow of things to do to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. You can e-mail your tips to me at paul.chavez@patch.com

3. Marina del Rey's Design Control Board meets this afternoon. Check back here later today for a story. One of the items is a follow-up report on the status of Fisherman's Village.

4. If you've always wanted to get your Lindy Hop and East Coast swing dancing groove on, tonight's your night. It's swing dance night at Rusty's in Playa del Rey, you can learn more right here and here.

5. Did you know you can follow Marina del Rey Patch, which also covers Del Rey and Playa del Rey, on Facebook and Twitter?
