Tentative Grocery Deal, Sunny Afternoons and Blog for Patch

Negotiators representing 62,000 grocery workers in Southern California and the owners of Vons, Ralphs and Albertsons have struck a tentative labor deal, avoiding a potential strike.

1. Negotiators representing 62,000 grocery workers in Southern Californian and the corporations that own Vons, Ralphs and Albertsons have reached a tentative agreeement on a labor contract, avoiding a potential strike. Details can be found right here.

2. The National Weather Service forecast for this afternoon calls for sunny skies with a high near 69 degrees with patchy fog after 11 p.m. and an overnight low around 61 degrees. Forecasters expect patchy fog Tuesday morning with sunshine in the afternoon and a high near 70 degrees.

3. The St. Bernard High School Vikings, of Playa del Rey, are 3-0 after rallying to defeat Valley Christian, 30-27, in their home opener. Ryan Dobson, a junior wideout, caught a 21-yard touchdown pass with only 15 seconds left in the game to secure the win for the Vikings. Details right here.

4. In case you missed it, Coastal Cleanup Day volunteers collected 22 tons of debris at more than 60 designated coastal and inland cleanup sites Saturday morning throughout Los Angeles County, including kayak cleanups of Ballona Creek and Marina del Rey's harbor. Details right here.
