There's about one week left to apply for a summer internship with Patch.

Today is Jan. 24. We are under a waning gibbous moon. Sunset will occur at 5:18 p.m. Here are five things to know about:

1. The National Weather Service forecasts calls for sunny skies with a high near 73 degrees today following by a mostly clear night with a low around 50 degrees. It should be sunny and in the 70s all week, too.

2. Boating columnist Paul M.J. Suchecki has a new piece out that offers tips for those who live on a boat or are thinking about it. You can learn more about that right here.

3. Playa del Rey resident Phil Jackson and the Los Angeles Lakers have been enjoying some down time since Friday's win over the Denver Nuggets. They're getting ready to play the Utah Jazz on Tuesday night at the Staples Center. There's a roundup of stories here to get you ready.

4. Patch is looking for summer interns. It's a full-time, paid summer internship. We're looking for college juniors, seniors, graduate students or a recent graduate with a passion for journalism. Applications will be accepted through Feb. 1. Learn more here.
