Fundraiser at G2 Gallery for Storm-Petrel Conservation

Announcement

Local Conservancy Announces Start of Capital Campaign to Discover Nesting Sites of  Markham's Storm Petrel

The Western Alliance for Nature, a non-profit conservancy based in Malibu, has launched a campaign to raise funds for a scientific exploration of an area in the desert in Chile where it is believed the Markham's Storm Petrel may be nesting.  This is extremely important and time sensitive.  Other than one small area in Peru, the nesting sites of this species remains unknown. However, there is evidence that the area where they may be nesting is located on land that is owned and designated for mining.  The WAN Conservancy    has therefore agreed to fund the Markham's Storm Petrel Project, whose main objective is to search for where the breeding colonies of this species may be located.
