Can You Guess America's Most Congested Freeway?

Here's a hint: it's in LA.

Oh, those busy business reporters at the Wall Street Journal! They've  crunched the numbers, looked at the charts, poured over the 2011 statistics, and come up with information they could have had by just asking any commuter in Los Angeles.

The most congested highway in America is a 13-mile stretch of I-405 in Los Angeles from the I-105 interchange through the Getty Center Drive exit.

And we could have told them to avoid Fridays from 4 to 5 p.m. when it is a virtual with stop-and-go and stop-and-go speeds  less than 20 mph.

Using data from Inrix, the Journal also reports six of the worst U.S. freeways for bottlenecks are right here in the City of Angels. Astonishing!

Here they are, with their ranking numbers:

3.   I-10 eastbound from Lincoln Boulevard to Alameda Street
5.   I-5 southbound from Cesar Chavez Avenue to Valley View Avenue
7.   I-405 southbound from Nordhoff Street to Mulholland Drive
12. I-110 northbound from the I-10 to Stadium Way
16. I-105 eastbound from Nash Street to the I-605
18. I-10 eastbound from City Terrace Drive to Baldwin Park Boulevard

Oh, and the worst day for a morning commute? Tuesday.

Just wait until the kicks in at the I-405 and Wilshire Boulevard.

You can thank all the folks at Union oil for this. They started it all and now we are paying for it. Rapid transit in Los Angeles is on the 405 between 4 and 5 on Friday. and thats the way big oil likes it.

MyHero: traffic congestion is rare in many parts of the US...take your tricycle and move. Be Happy!
