Top 10 Must-See Endeavour Photos, Videos

Patch readers from all over the Southland contributed stellar shots of the space shuttle Endeavour. See the highlights here.

The space shuttle Endeavour's victory lap around the Los Angeles region Friday was a spectacle that launched a thousand camera clicks.

The shuttle, riding on top of a NASA 747, was a dramatic sight for thousands of residents who captured the Endeavour as it passed by L.A.'s most scenic backdrops: the Hollywood sign, the Santa Monica Pier, L.A. City Hall and many other local landmarks.

Many Patch readers submitted photos and videos of Endeavour and our editorial team also took photos and videos from L.A.'s scenic outlooks. Scroll through the photo gallery above to see are some of the best photos Patch published Friday.

I was at the Cafe At The End Of The Universe at Griffith Park Observatory. I shot the reverse angle from behind his photos. He took that photo between 11:57:49 and 11:57:55AM. I have 25 photos to prove it. Here is the reverse angle of his shot: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10152150017085385.904160.758585384&type=1&l=21c1393c12 And the other photos I shot that morning: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10152138312190385.902091.758585384&type=1&l=8d2073c7ce @Brian Michaels, what's your email address? OMG! it flew right by where I work and at a very low altitude on its way to the Griffith Park Observatory!!! We were thrilled by the size and the 'up-close' view we got of it. I did however, track it from the 'bue' all the way over here, so I kept running out the front door of our office to see if it was going to go by. I could hear the engines of the planes as it approached. It was absolutely beautiful. What a wonderful gift! Other pictures show it really high, but he came down really low as he cruised by. I am still thrilled just thinking about the experience. I can hardly wait until it is at the California Science Center to see it again, but in mid-air WOW!
