Los Angeles – The campaign of civil rights attorney Simona Farrise has released a series of mail pieces and a new website www.autumndoesntgiveafrack.com highlighting the thousands of dollars of contributions Autumn Burke has taken from oil and energy companies.

Despite claiming to be against fracking, Ms. Burke has steadfastly refused to return contributions from energy and oil companies, although she promised to do so at a candidate forum in April.  In fact, since that time, Autumn Burke has taken more contributions from the oil and energy industry and is being supported by a huge independent expenditure from CJAC, which is largely funded by oil and energy companies.

The new website www.autumndoesntgiveafrack.com clearly details some of the financing Burke has received from oil and energy companies.  These donations call into question Burke’s independence and dedication to the 62nd district.  Residents and anti-fracking groups who have endorsed Burke’s campaign, such as the Sierra Club, deserve to know how much money she is taking from oil and energy interests that want to frack up the 62nd district.

This site is just a first step on revealing how much special interest money has been spent to promote Burke.  Ms. Burke purports to work in real estate and developers have also weighed heavily in her campaign.  But they are joined by contributions from pharmaceutical companies, from insurance companies and from the doctors that want to maintain the MICRA status quo – allowing bad doctors to practice bad medicine with almost no retribution.

Simona Farrise is a progressive Democrat.  She has been endorsed by the “Morningside Park Chronicle”, the “LA Progressive”, and the “Progressive Democrats of Santa Monica Mountains” as well as by Senator Hannah-Beth Jackson and Senator Bill Monning.

The 62nd district includes the southern part of the Westside and the northern South Bay region, reaching from South Los Angeles to the Pacific Ocean.  It includes portions of Inglewood, El Segundo, Gardena, Hawthorne, Lawndale, Lennox, Venice, Westchester, Marina del Rey, West Athens and Westmont.
