Police Use Taser on Armed Suspect During Traffic Stop

Helicopter was dispatched after person fled the scene.

Two Marina del Rey sheriff deputies arrested an armed suspect during a routine traffic stop on La Tijera Boulevard and 59th Street on April 26.

Police used a Taser and pepper sprayed Noel Vasquez, 24, after he threatened the officers, according to Detective Dion Batte. 

But Vasquez managed to flee the scene. Police dispatched a helicopter and located him a few blocks away where he was apprehended by a police dog. Police found a gun at the scene.

Vasquez was on parole for drug possession.
