Niko Laurie fell from a window Sunday and died today at UCLA Medical Center.

A 4-year-old boy who fell out of a window in a Marina del Rey apartment building died Monday of his injuries, officials said.

The boy was identified as Niko Laurie and he was at home with his family Sunday when he fell out of a four-story window, said Craig Harvey, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office. The child was taken to UCLA Medical Center where he later died.

The Los Angeles Fire Department was called to the 13700 block of Marina Pointe Drive at 6:12 p.m. Sunday and witnesses said the child fell from an upper-level window, said Brian Humphrey, a fire department spokesman.

The Los Angeles Police Department also responded, but there is no criminal investigation, said Lt. Andy Neiman, a police spokesman.

"It's a tragic accident," Neiman said Monday.
