Marina del Rey Auto Thefts Drop Significantly in Past Year

Statistics parallel declining trend in county crimes.

Crimes in Marina del Rey dropped about 6 percent in Marina del Rey as of December 2012, compared to one year ago.

Violent crimes fell by about 8 percent and property crimes dropped about 6 percent, according to Los Angeles Sheriff's Department data released Dec. 5.

There was a significant decrease in automobile thefts in the same time period, about 19 percent.
