Cyclist Injured by Car Leaving Parking Stall Near End of Fiji Way

A cyclist was transported to a local hospital Sunday afternoon after he was hit by a car in the process of exiting her parking stall near the marina at the end of Fiji Way, according to Officer Monica Posada of the California Highway Patrol.

The 85-year-old female driver had been backing out of her parking stall and had stopped to wait for another car to pass before pulling the car forward to to get out of the lot, according to Posada.  

She then pulled into a walk/bike way nearby and hit the cyclist, a male in his 40s.  

The cyclist suffered minor injuries but was transported to the hospital, Posada said.

There CHP log lists the exact location of the accident at 13737 Fiji Way.  The accident was reported shortly before 2:30 p.m.
