Fire Department Volunteers To Offer First Aid Course

Learn how to treat burn victims and other life-saving skills.

Patricia Nagy, a Red Cross instructor for over 24 years, will be leading a first aid course on June 27, which will review life-savings skills such as controlled bleeding and shock, splinting and treating victims with heat burns.

The meeting is sponsored by the Community Emergency Response Teams from West Los Angeles, representing CERT volunteers in LAFD battalions 4,9 and 18. 

CERT members assist fire fighters with small fires, light search and rescue and disaster response. CERT classes are free and open to all.

The First Aid Course will be held June 27 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the training room of Fire Station 5, located at 8900 S. Emerson Ave, Los Angeles.
