Firefighters Douse Yard Fire in Del Rey

There was no word on what sparked the blaze.

Firefighters today made quick work of a blaze in the backyard of a house in the Del Rey area and prevented the flames from spreading to the structure.

The non-injury fire was reported about 12:30 p.m. in the 12500 block of Short Avenue, said Cory Weireter of the Los Angeles Fire Department. The flames were extinguished within a few minutes.

There was no word on what sparked the blaze.
