LAPD to Host Emergency Preparedness Summit
Wednesday's meeting will be hosted by the LAPD's Pacific Division.
The Los Angeles Police Department's Pacific Division wants to help local residents prepare for an emergency.
The division will host its "Senior Lead Officer Summit" on Wednesday to discuss emergency preparedness and disaster awareness.
The topic this year is especially important, according to LAPD Officer Marcela Garcia.

"Natural disasters can occur at any time," Garcia said. "The goal of LAPD/Pacific Division in this upcoming Senior Lead Summit is to provide information to our community members on what they can do to better prepare themselves and their loved ones in case of a natural disaster."
The LAPD Pacific Division, which covers Venice, Playa del Rey, Mar Vista, Del Rey and Westchester, among other areas, hosts the summit on an annual basis.
