Motorcycle Thefts on the Rise

Police are suggesting that owners install tracking devices.

There has been a spike in motorcycle thefts in the L.A. coastal communities., according to the Los Angeles Police Department Pacific Division.

Owners are urged to lock their motorcycles and store them in a safe place whenever possible, as thieves have been picking up motorcycles and transporting them away in vans.

Police are recommending that owners install an alarm system on the bike that detects movement and add a hidden tracking device.

Some motorcycles have been also been stolen from underground parking garages.

Police have not released the exact number of bikes stolen, but Patch will follow up with any updates when those numbers become available.
