Police Dispatch Helicopter Overnight to Search for Fugitive

Streets surrounding apartment complex were shut down.

Police attempted to take a parolee-at-large into custody on Tuesday evening at an apartment building on Glencoe Avenue and Washington Boulevard, but the man’s escape prompted a helicopter search throughout the night, according to Venice311

The Los Angeles Police Department established a perimeter around the apartment complex and blocked off surrounding streets. Some residents were not able to return home until about 2 a.m. The suspect, who jumped off a balcony to evade police, is still at-large.

Some twitter messages throughout the night:

“Can they do an apt search so I can go to bed already?! I’ll gladly open my door for the police,” @dirty_dee

“Stuck at friends apt pinned down by police helicopters and dogs. It'd be a slumber party if anyone could sleep. o_0,” @jessthehunted

“No one allowed in or out,” @inventionspodcast
