Police Night Out to Raise Crime Awareness

Event will feature a bbq and raise community awareness against drugs and crime.

The Marina del Rey Sheriff Station will take part in National Night Out on Tuesday, a crime and drug prevention event throughout communities in the U.S.

A barbecue and light refreshments will be served, and the station will display information on neighborhood watch programs, personal safety. The event will take place Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Ladera Sheriff’s Service Center, located at 5357 Centinela Ave in Los Angeles.

  • Heighten crime prevention awareness
  • Generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs
  • Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships
  • Send a message to criminals that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

In addition to being a great opportunity for residents to interact with local police and fire officials in a positive environment, National Night Out is also an opportunity for the Marina del Rey Sheriff Station to recruit new members for watch groups.
