Spike in Burglaries Reported in Marina del Rey, Westchester

The Pacific Division will conduct a meeting on the burglaries at the Masonic Lodge at 10 a.m. Saturday.

There 25 burglaries last week in Westchester and near Marina Del Rey, the Los Angeles Police Department's Pacific Division reported Tuesday.

There was a cluster in East Westchester around Alvern Street, Glasgow Avenue and La Tijera Boulevard. All the burglaries occurred at homes which had unlocked doors or windows, police said.

There were two burglaries near Westchester High School. Two suspects were taken into custody who were loitering in the area, police said.

A third grouping of burglaries occurred in the area north of Jefferson Boulevard, south of Venice Boulevard, west of Centinela Avenue and east of Marina Del Rey. The burglaries do not appear to be related, police said.
