Woman Robbed with a Stun Gun in Del Rey

Woman was robbed of her backpack and suffered cuts to the face.

A 60-year-old woman on Tuesday was robbed of her backpack with a stun gun and suffered lacerations to the face as she was walking on Short and Kenyon avenues in Del Rey.

The crime occurred at approximately 7:50 a.m. and the woman, whose name is not being released, was in stable condition when emergency personnel arrived. She was taken to the Marina del Rey hospital, according to Los Angeles Police Department spokesman Christopher No.

The suspect, described as a 20-year-old black male, about 6 feet tall and 150 pounds, is still at-large.

Correction: A previous version of this story referred to the weapon used in Tuesday's attack as a Taser, the brand name of a stun gun. Police reports did not indicate if this specific brand of stun gun was used, so it was changed to the generic form.

I'm so glad you added that comment, and that I read the comments (since the headline says it hasRead More opened). I was all excited to walk up and try it tonight, which would have been a bummer. Looking forward to trying it.
