County Approves New Parking Contractor for Marina
The Board of Supervisors voted today to award Modern Parking Inc. the contract for the lots in Marina del Rey.
The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors voted today to award Modern Parking Inc. a three-year contract to manage the County’s Marina del Rey parking lots.
County Department of Beaches and Harbors spokesperson Carol Baker said the contracts are bid out routinely every five years. Modern Parking, she said, scored the highest and bid the lowest on the contract. Baker added that the company has experience managing public parking lots in the region.
The cost of the contract is capped at $1,551,132 annually plus an annual incentive payment of 15% of the revenue increase from the previous year, excluding taxes due, fee increases or service expansion. The contract is effective April 16, with two one-year extension options and an additional maximum six month-to-month extensions.
