Del Rey Neighborhood Council Candidate: Peter Hsu

Patch asked Del Rey candidates a few questions to help voters decide in the Oct. 28 election.

Editor’s note: This is one of several articles in a series of profiles on Del Rey Neighborhood Council candidates that Patch will be running leading up to the election.

What would you prioritize if you were voted in?

I would prioritize issues that will be beneficial to the area I represent and those living in the Del Rey NC area. I am interested in pushing forward small bore stuff. I would like to put on activities, such as neighborhood picnics, so that the folks living around here can get to know one another.

Who are your primary supporters?

Family and friends, but I will be putting up flyers around the neighborhood to let my neighbors know that I am running.

What issue do you feel most strongly about and what’s your position?

I am generally happy with the way affairs of the neighborhood so there is no particular issue I feel very strongly about aside from fiscal discipline. However, I don't think that it will be an issue with a budget of $37k. I think the Area director should represent their constituents. As such, whatever the constituents think is important, I will advocate for.

What's one thing most constituents don't know about you?

I stopped being an atheist 3 years ago.

Why did you decide to run?

I received a flyer on my door from the Del Rey NC asking for candidates to run. I thought it would be a good opportunity to be involved with the my neighborhood.

Peter Hsu is running for Area 2 Director, a two-year term. To read more candidate profiles, click here.

I'm so glad you added that comment, and that I read the comments (since the headline says it hasRead More opened). I was all excited to walk up and try it tonight, which would have been a bummer. Looking forward to trying it.
