Venice Neighborhood Council Candidate: Sylvia Aroth

Patch asked the VNC candidates a few questions to help voters decide in the Oct. 28 election.

Editor’s note: This is one of several articles in a series of profiles on Venice candidates.

What would you prioritize if you were voted in?

My priority would be maintaining Venice's unique diverse, creative, eclectic and Bohemian character. This would include addressing the needs of the less fortunate among us.

Who are your primary supporters?

My friends and acquaintances.

What issue do you feel most strongly about and what’s your position?

Balance between gentrification and inclusivity.

What's one thing most constituents don't know about you?

Sylvia Aroth is running for At-Large Community Officer, a two-year term. To read more candidate profiles, click here.

I hope you are aware of the health and safety issues regarding the Santa Monica Airport? This should be on all candidates list of top concerns.

What can the neighborhood council to do about the airport? Don't the feds have jurisdiction, not the city? And it's not even in our city! Do you want Aroth to just get up on a soap box with you and whine about something neither of you can do anything about? I'd prefer to see Sylvia Aroth and the other candidates tell us more about stuff the VNC can actually have an impact on. She really didn't say much here.
