With more than 1.8 million registered voters, Los Angeles now has the largest municipal community of voters in the western United States.

With the May 21 municipal election just days away, the League of Women voters has released an impartial Easy Voter Guide available here online.

Voters will be chosing among:

  • Candidates for mayor, city attorney, controller and Los Angeles Community College District Board of Trustees Office 6,
  • Three different measures on regulating medical marijuana businesses, and  a resolution on campaign finance,
  • Some voters will also vote for a City Council candidate and/or a Member of the Board of the Los Angeles Unified School District.

With more than 1.8 million registered voters, Los Angeles now has the largest municipal community of voters in the western United States. According to the League, the figures are startling when looking at off-year elections, when local races and issues are decided. In March 2013 the L.A.
