LMU Receives High Marks in College Rankings

Loyola Marymount University receives high rankings form U.S. News and World Report.

U.S. News and World Report recently ranked Loyola Marymount University as the third-best regional college in the west, the university announced this week.

The number three ranking is the second year in a row that LMU has received the honors in U.S. New and World Report's "Best Colleges" report.

“It’s no surprise that LMU continues to be recognized for providing a top-quality education to our students,” LMU President David Burcham said in a news release. “We work hard to live up to our mission of educating the whole person, and it’s gratifying to see outside experts acknowledge and celebrate our success.”

In addition to LMU's overall ranking, the school's engineering and marketing programs ranked 22nd among undergraduate programs. The engineering program tied for the No. 22 ranking with eight other schools across the country.

“Once again, our college has been cited by our peers as an excellent place for students to learn and develop their skills and expertise,” said Richard G. Plumb, dean of the engineering school. “Our inclusive and comprehensive curriculum educates engineers and scientists in the latest technologies, and schools them in the oldest human truths.”
