Loyola Marymount University Announces Commencement Speakers
Doris Kearns Goodwin and Tom Mueller are scheduled to speak.
Pulitzer-prize winning author and historian Doris Kearns Goodwin will be the graduation speaker for the undergraduates this year at Loyola Marymount University.
Goodwin's book, Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln, was the basis for the Academy Award-winning film, Lincoln.
She is scheduled to speak during the ceremony which begins at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 11.

Tom Mueller, who is a rocket scientist and has a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Loyola Marymount University, or LMU, will address the graduate students during their separate commencement at 10 a.m. on Sunday, May 12.
Mueller is the co-founder and vice president of propulsion and development at SpaceX, a Hawthorne-based space transport company. His company became the first private company in 2012 to send a cargo payload to the International Space Station, according to LMU spokesman Mason Stockstill.
