Race for Success Aims to Raise Funds for Local Schools

Loyola Marymount University prepares for this weekend's event, which will benefit schools in Westchater, Playa del Rey and Playa Vista.

Loyola Marymount University will be the site of this weekend's "Race for Success."

Those who participate in the annual, 5K race will be helping raise money for local schools in Westchester, Playa del Rey and Playa Vista.

Children eight years old and under can also participate by joining in their own shorter race.

The cost to participate is $30 for adults, $25 for children 12 years and under and $12 for those eight years and younger. There is a discount of $3 per person for teams of four or more, according to the race's website.

If you can't make it in person, there is also room for virtual runners to race for a donation of at least ten dollars.

"Race for Success" is scheduled to take place at 8 a.m. on Saturday, April 20, at Loyola Marymount University. The 1K race for kids begins at 10 a.m.

There will also be a medal ceremony to top off the day's festivities.
