The Playa del Run is a running and swimming competition now in its 11th year.
Participants can choose between a 5k run, a one mile swim, a one mile sand sprint or a combination. Although the event is a competition, it is also about fun, and there will be music, food and a raffle.
The event organizers do require that swimmers are comfortable in the ocean and can complete a one mile swim in one hour.
