The Stanley Cup champion Los Angeles Kings announced Wednesday they will open preseason play Sept. 24 by playing split-squad games against the Phoenix Coyotes at Staples Center and Jobing.com Arena in Glendale, Ariz.
The Kings will play one other preseason game at Staples Center -- Oct. 8 against the New York Rangers -- and two others elsewhere in Southern California -- Oct. 1 at Honda Center in Anaheim and Oct. 6 at Citizens Bank Arena in Ontario, both against the Anaheim Ducks.
The Citizens Bank Arena will be split down the middle for the game, with half reserved for Kings fans and the other half for Ducks fans.
The Kings will also play preseason games against the Colorado Avalanche Sept. 26 at Denver's Pepsi Center and Sept. 29 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Tickets are on sale for the games in Ontario and Las Vegas. Tickets for the games at Staples Center will go on sale later this summer, according to Jeff Moeller, the Kings senior director of communications.
