Olympic Medalist Delights Crowd at RowLA Event

"Learn to Row Day” a success at Mother’s Beach.

It was a time of fun and learning during RowLA’s "Learn to Row Day” at Mother’s Beach.

The event yesterday attracted nearly 50 people, including Olympic bronze medalist Anita DeFrantz who was on hand to teach rowing techniques.

“It was a fantastic success with lots of new rowers learning from experienced rowers,” said organizer Liz Greenberger. “Having Anita DeFrantz, Olympic medalist and International Olympic Committee member, there was a very special experience for all participating.”

All ages were in attendance. RowLA regularly works with girls from schools, including Westchester High School, teaching them rowing as well as offering academic tutoring.

I'm so glad you added that comment, and that I read the comments (since the headline says it hasRead More opened). I was all excited to walk up and try it tonight, which would have been a bummer. Looking forward to trying it.
