Creepin’ Out: Halloween 2012 in Marina del Rey

Halloween 2012 events in Marina del Rey.

All dressed up with nowhere to go this Halloween? Fear not! From dancing and costume parties to puppet shows for the kids, Marina del Rey and the surrounding ‘hoods have a ton of fun spooky activities to choose from. Need your own Nightmare on Via Marina? Here’s a ‘slice’ of what’s happening locally from now until next Wednesday:

THRILLER: Halloween Costume Party at Glow Lounge
It’s close to midnight and something evil’s lurking in the dark…no, it’s not zombie, but a dude dressed up like Michael Jackson at Glow Ultra Lounge at the Marriot Marina del Rey. On Saturday, October 27, DJs Stevelektro and Junior Costa will be spinning. There will also be $500 worth of costume contest prizes given away, so make sure to show up in your spookiest attire.

Halloween Haunt
Anyone who has ever seen the 1989 classic, “Puppetmaster,” knows that puppets can not only be creepy, but murderous too.  The family-friendly Halloween Haunt at Waterside Marina del Rey probably won’t have murderous puppets, but the event organizers have promised it to be “the most colorful and fun puppet show ever” with lots of tricks and stunts performed by…what else? Puppets. Kids will scream…but so will the parents. Maybe.

The Haunted Blood Vessel
Boats can be haunted. After all, the Queen Mary was the site of 49 reported deaths, with many stories of spirits haunting her hallways. This Halloween, take your fright night to the open seas on the luxury yacht, The Majestic.  Transformed into The Haunted Blood Vessel for an epic party on Saturday, October 27, the yacht will feature an open VIP bar and an all-star lineup of DJs on three separate decks for about 400 Sailors & Sailorettes. If you’re going to get spooked, at least you’ll have amazing views of the Marina del Rey Harbor as the backdrop to your evening. Tickets range from $40-$700 for full VIP service.
