Venice High School is part of the Los Angeles Unified School District and has been at this location since 1925. The…More campus can be seen in the movie "Grease," where it was portrayed as Rydell High School. The front lawn has a beautiful statue of actress Myrna Loy, who was an alumna.
The border of Venice expands to encompass the school, although it is east of Walgrove Avenue. The school originally was located just two blocks from Venice Beach where classes were held in an old bathhouse.
The school has many Advanced Placement courses and offers a magnet program in Foreign Language and International Studies, as well as a Bilingual Business and Finance Academy and a New Media Academy.
