In addition to his radio work, Philip writes for several newspapers and magazines. He does a regular Baja column in Coastal Angler Magazine (500,000 readers) and Fish Taco Chronicles. He also writes the outdoor column for the Daily Breeze newspaper in Southern California (circulation 175,000) and regularly contributes to another 10 magazines and newspapers.

His web presence is expanded even more by his strategic use of rapidly-expanding social networking sites including Facebook and Twitter.
Philip made his first trip to Mexico in 1963 when his parents took him to the historic Rosarito Beach Hotel. He made his first trans-peninsular drive to Cabo San Lucas in 1975 and has driven to Cabo over 25 times since then.
He has traveled through the country every single year since that first trip and can now recount literally hundreds of trips to Mexico including six months living in Tlacoachistlauaca, Guerrero, where he lived with the Amuzgo Indians teaching English and Spanish and a year in Mexico City and Acapulco teaching English to the poor.
As an advocate for the sport fishing industry, Philip has organized and sponsored trips that have taken over 65,000 children fishing in the US and Mexico. His highly publicized trips for underprivileged kids have attracted the attention of many high-profile actors and athletes, who regularly participate in these great events and help extend his media presence.
